MTC PRESS RELEASE - JUNE 2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Materials Testing & Consulting, Inc. uses health insurance system to benefit local area charity.

(Burlington, WA‐June 21, 2020) Materials Testing & Consulting, Inc. (MTC) is directing a gift of $2,880.00, to the Friendship House of Skagit County, through their medical benefits consultant,
LBG Advisors.

The donation is the result of a policy LBG Advisors has in place, in which they do not accept
insurance carrier bonuses, rather, they donate the proceeds to 501(c)(3) charities in the name of
their clients. In this case, Materials Testing & Consulting, Inc. has chosen to direct that support
to the Friendship House of Skagit County, WA; a charity with the mission of feeding, sheltering,
clothing, and healing those in need.

Through donations, Friendship House supports more than 1,500 people in Skagit County every
year by providing clean shelters, clothing, food and other essential services. It is through this basic
support structure and networking with other social service agencies that people are provided an
opportunity to regain their self-worth and self-sufficiency. Beth Edwards, Human Resources
Manager at Materials Testing & Consulting, Inc. says, “MTC is thrilled to be able to support our
community through a donation to the Friendship House. The work they do in Skagit County to help
get people off the streets and transform their lives is inspiring! This is the second carrier-based
bonus since 2019 and we couldn’t be happier to see it donated to such an important organization
and cause that impacts the community in which we live and serve."

Jason Jakobsen, Senior Benefits Consultant at LBG Advisors issued the following statement, “In
these challenging times, it’s even more important to partner with community-minded organizations
like
Materials Testing & Consulting, Inc. They are not only helping to keep their communities
safe through the work they do but expanding that influence through support of important charities
like Friendship House, a win-win!”
